Why Libertarian?

Like 44% of Americans, I consider myself fiscally conservative and socially tolerant. That means I am pro-choice and pro-civil liberties, but oppose higher income taxes, earmarks, and government waste. I often agree with Democrats on social issues (although I oppose the Democrats’ decision to extend the Patriot Act). I also often agree with the economic views that Republicans claim to support. In reality, government spending has grown just as much under Republicans as under Democrats.

To me, both economic issues and social issues are too important to compromise. I am proud to call myself a Libertarian, and hope to join the hundreds of other Libertarians that currently hold elected offices across America.
